Meet the Team

As you will have seen on my About Me page, I set up Wildcat Fitness as a sole trader at the beginning of 2013. Running my own business is fascinating, rewarding, challenging and exciting - but the biggest downside is that there is only one of me! So I'm thrilled to have an amazing Team Wildcat member in my incredible colleague Rahel.

Having worked in the fitness industry at many different levels for over 8 years now I wanted to work with trainers who shared the same passion and professionalism as me - Wildcat Fitness is about bespoke and personalised training at every level. Rahel is an amazing trainer and loves what she does - her enthusiasm for fitness is obvious and whichever member of Team Wildcat you train with you can rest assured you will receive the very best training and support.

If you, or someone you know might be interested in becoming part of Team Wildcat, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me!

"A little bit about the Amazon

My fitness journey started 8 years ago when I was still a stay at home mother. (Yes, I have a lovely 9 year old son!) I had never really participated in sports aside from PE in school. But the somewhat sedentary and convenient life had made me put on a bit of weight, which I desperately wanted to shift. I had never been the one to keep still for very long anyway, so I needed to be constantly doing something! After a friend recommended I try a home based training programme for fun, a month later I was completely hooked. My friends noticed that I was so much happier and said I was inspiring them to do and be more, too.

Being highly motivated by their words and my results, I went on from there to become an internationally certified BodyCombat instructor in less than 6 months. I also qualified in BodyBalance and BodyPump to motivate even more people with my genuine passion for all things fitness. Group Exercise was a lot of fun (and I met so many fantastic people over the 6 years), but already a few years in I felt I wasn’t reaching my full potential, so I got my nose back in books and became a Level 3 Personal Trainer in 2013. After a few years of trying to juggle both teaching and PT, I decided to stop teaching classes altogether and dedicated my time to Personal Training.

Training isn’t the only thing I’m passionate about. A balanced diet and lifestyle is something that I promote on a daily basis. I am a City and Guilds approved Nutritionist with an additional qualification in Nutrition for Sports and Exercise. Next courses I have already enrolled on include but are not limited to: Food Allergies & Intolerances, Pre and Post Natal nutrition, Childhood nutrition, Behaviour Coaching.

Knowing that every fitness goal should be based on strength and that working with weights is also the fastest way to assist people with weight and fat loss goals, I have made resistance training my centre of focus. With that said, I will always tailor the training sessions specifically to my clients’ goals. I would like to believe that I, myself, am a good example of how lifting weights does not make a woman look bulky, manly or huge as is the common misconception, but leaves them sexy and lean instead. Ever since I started my own fitness journey, all I’ve wanted is for my passion to inspire others, and I am very lucky to say I have been able to do just that and I can’t wait to meet many more of you and help you on your road to your ultimate self!

How did the name Amazon come into being?

After having left social media for a couple of years to focus on my personal life and work, I wanted to start up a page again, so in January 2016 a few clients of mine started brainstorming for a catchy username. From a pair of gladiator sandals that I owned, I had been called an Amazon many times, which in a joking manner seemed to fit. I have to say that since then this name has definitely grown on me and I feel that I can walk the walk and live up to the rather pretentious nickname! 😉

One more fun fact: my last name, ILD, means ‘fire’ in Norwegian. Passion for fitness runs deep inside me and I can’t wait to share it with you!"
